From the Editor:
Of course this issue is late....I've caught more than one group of hackers
sitting on email (reading it and not even being nice enough to forward it
on to me....shame!). I've deflected and detected so many port scans now
I feel like the clearing house for hacking attempts!
I like to do a special shout out to Carvnivore and big brudder....congrats
on getting clearance to raise havok on the web. How much was that budget
increase you wanted now? Will you take cash? Personal check?
A location for Rockfest in Georgia has been secured, now we just need the
PA and the stage built. Anyone with some spares call in! Lines are open
now!
Plus, in December, watch the website for the Undie Awards voting booth, I
promise it'll be smoother than the presidential election!
Gotta run, enjoy the Zine! and remember....
The Underground - Legends start here....

**** Magic Red & the Voodoo Tribe - "The First Temptation"
"This is RED HOT, wailing, take-no-prisoners Blues guitar. Watch out for
this guy. Fans of Stevie Ray and Johnny Winter will Love it."
- Scott Acton - WNTI
" If you are looking for a subtle and gentle recording suitable for
background music during a romantic evening, you have come to the wrong
placehere. Magic Red is about as subtle as a magnitude 8.0 earthquake and as
gentle as the breeze spewn from an erupting volcano. " - Bluesrockers
"Performing songs from an upcoming release as well as rearranged standards,
Red became the epitome of the modern-day blues player." - The Buffalo News
**** The Linwood Taylor Band - "Make Room For The Paying Customer"
"It's a jamming record in the soaring Stratocaster tradition of Albert King
and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Taylor always plays to the song." - Blues Revue
"Taylor doesn't seem to want to merely ape where the blues has been, but to
move it forward, making it fresh instead of a historical
document. " - Blues Beat Magazine
"This is one of the tightest bands in the region, and Make Room for the
Paying Customers should herald a bright future for one of the more talented
guitarists around today. " - Baltimore Blues Society

GET PAID TO LISTEN TO MUSIC!!!
Check this out...
There's a company called RadioFreeCash
that is paying you to listen to the radio on your computer...
and not only do they pay you, but they also pay you for the referrals
who you bring to their community.
This could mean serious cash for you, especially if you get in early.
You've probably all heard of other companies that pay you to surf the
net and all the money people are making because they got in early.
Well, radiofreecash is even better, because all you have to do is
listen to the radio, which frees you up to do other stuff, like surf
the net, write your term paper, pay the bills, email friends - whatever!
They realize that your time is valuable, and they know that paying you
for it is the best way to get you to listen - they are effectively
starting a revolution in radio, and you should get in early - I did,
and you can too!
Just go to their website and sign up! it's

STEWART MILES RETURNS....clubbers take note
Simply goto : http://www.9barrecordings.co.uk
Info:-
We are an unsigned set of artists who are currently seeking a record label to
release so of our music. Currently we are producing techno, house, trance
variants, drum n' bass and ambient music. You can check out our music at
http://www.9barrecordings.co.uk , then goto the tracks page. The tracks are
grouped into genres so you can listen at your leisure.
We are NOT the average plonkers who produce crap music and upload it to
mp3.com etc. We've been producing for about 7 years and released a tune under
our own label last summer. It did really well in the clubs but unfortunately
the distributors didn't really have any time for us. The tunes from the E.P
we released are also available on the web, the track names are
'Desecrated Nation', 'Evol I' and 'Silent Cry'.
If you have time I hope you listen to and enjoy our music. Hopefully if you
like it you'll at the least give us some feedback or offer some advice. All we
want is for club land to enjoy our music.
Thanks for your time

NYC REPORT - AMAZURA
A couple of weeks Hallucinogen played at the Amazura ballroom here in New York
City. Amazura is way out in Queens but it happens to be easily accessible via
the Long Island RR and the subway both. We got there a bit after midnight and
there was a line around the block. The club was being run by the nazi's that
night and they were searching everyone and the line was the same for ticket
holders or not. It was cold that night and we ended up in line for around
two hours which sucked because judging by the music, I missed one of the best
DJ sets which was by Simon Posford of Hallucinogen and it was awesome, what I
could hear through the door. A lot of really hard stuff that I haven't heard
in the past. When I finally got in there I was a bit tired from the cold.
The crowd was a bit too raver for my taste but it wasn't too bad. The decor
was nice and the place was huge. Lot's of black light tapestries, most of which
I'd seen before and some neat netting work by the stage. The Amazura is
basically a converted warehouse, it's huge. I'd say near 2000 were in attendance
that night on the largest dance floor I've been to that kind of party with. The
stage was really high and I walked in right before Raja Ram went on. Raja Ram
was really good and got me some energy from somewhere that I'd been hiding it,
he was playing some nice hard melodic stuff and it got me ready for Hallucinogen
who went on at 4. Hallucinogen's set was amazing. It was extremely hard and
EXTREMELY LOUD. It grew progressively louder so I didn't realize how loud it
was until I left. I tapped out my energy about halfway through Hallucinogen so
I just found myself a nice corner and absorbed it. This is one of the best sets
I've ever heard, my only complaint was that the club made it hard for me to enjoy
it by making me wait in the freezing weather for a couple of hours. I left a
little before 6 or so and Hallucinogen was still on. He played a lot of stuff I
had never heard before and I've heard a lot of Hallucinogen. If you don't know
Hallucinogen, I'd say they are a good introduction to psy- trance, with some of
the most complex melody of the genre and it just creates an amazing atmosphere.
For those of you who have never been to a trance party and are a little bit
turned off by the rave scene in general don't discount goa-trance for your usual
reasons. The goa scene is not part of the rave scene, though ravers do tend to
come to the parties. It's a totally different atmosphere. I'd say it's worth
checking out if you're up for a night of loud music and dancing. Look for
festivals around where you are, oftentimes they have some nice outdoor parties
and it's definitely something to try at least once.
Some info on the Amazura, they check you really hard so if you are going to try
and bring stuff in hide it carefully. I got in two joints and a leatherman
pocketknife so it's not impossible to get stuff in, but be careful where you
keep the stuff, you don't want to get turned away at the door.

LAST CALL FOR LOVERBOY BASSIST
Loverboy bass player swept overboard, missing
December 2, 2000
Web posted at: 2:09 AM EST (0709 GMT)
http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/12/02/overboard.ap/index.html
SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- The bass guitar player of 1980s pop band,
Loverboy, was missing at sea after being swept overboard by a 25-foot (7.5-meter)
wave, the performer's management company said.
Scott Smith, 45, of Vancouver, British Columbia, was tossed overboard the Sea
Major, his 37-foot (11-meter) sailboat. The incident occurred Thursday
afternoon about four miles (six kilometers) off San Francisco's Ocean Beach,
a release from manager Lou Blair said.
Two travel companions, who have not been named, were below deck when the wave
struck the boat. They were not injured.
The wave's force was so strong it broke off the boat's steering wheel, the
release said.
The U.S. Coast Guard searched for Smith -- who was not wearing a life preserver
-- with helicopters and a boat, but the effort was called off Friday. Smith's
family has mounted a private search.
The Canadian band, Loverboy, released their debut album in 1980. The group had
such Top 20 hits as "Working for the Weekend," "Lovin' Every Minute of It," and
"Turn me Loose."
